Bible Studies @ Grace

Disciple (Long Term)  This study requires reading large portions of Scripture each week and is based on careful study and preparation. During the course of about 30 weeks, groups will move through the Biblical stories of Creation to the New Jerusalem. Disciple assumes that the Bible is the key to renewal in the church. Its aim is transformation, not just information, and calls on participants to submit themselves to examination by Scripture, to put themselves under the power of God’s Word, and to be changed by God’s Word. Disciple invites persons to bring their experiences and struggles to the Scripture.
  • Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is the foundation of the Disciple Bible Study program. It gives equal time to both the Old and New Testament, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as the revelation of God. It is a pre-requisite of the following studies.
  • Into the Word, Into the World encourages persons to open themselves to hearing what God has to say to them through the Bible and to be guided into service in the world by Scripture and their study of it. This study concentrates on four books: Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts.
  • Remember Who You Are makes the connection between memory and identity as the people of God. Participants will read the major and minor Old Testament prophets, with the exception of Daniel, and the thirteen letters traditionally attributed to Paul.
  • Under the Tree of Life concentrates on the writings in the Old Testament – Ruth, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations, and Daniel. New Testament Scriptures include the Gospel of John; 1, 2, and 3 John; James; Jude; and Revelation. Present through the study is the sense of living toward completion, toward the climax of the message and the promise, extravagantly pictured in the Revelation.

Jesus in The Gospels (Long Term)  Jesus in The Gospel invites believers to look at Jesus in each of the four Gospels and ask the questions, "Who is the Jesus that you see?" and "Who is the Jesus you take with you from this study?"

Christian Believer
(Long Term)  This study explores Christian creeds and the tradition shaped by the confessions. Christian Believer brings in history but it is not a course in church history and emphasizes the relationship of worship, belief, and daily life.

Disciple (Short Term)
An eight to eleven week in-depth, committed Bible study. Short-Term is broken into two programs: Old Testament and New Testament. It makes it easier for busy people who are unable to commit to longer studies to connect in a meaningful way to God's Word.

Getting Acquainte
d With The Bible (Short Term) -A basic introduction to the Bible that's easy to use and understand, this Bible survey is ideal for newly organized groups, new members, and adults with little or no Bible background. Real life problems and conditions are addressed in light of the biblical story.

Getting Acquainted With Your Faith (Short Term) This study helps adults gain an overview of the Christian faith in only eight sessions. It appeals especially to new church members and those who are intimidated about being in a Sunday school class where other students "know theology."

Getting Acquainted With Jesus (Short Term) Getting Acquainted With Jesus helps adults gain an overview of the life and ministry of Jesus. It focuses on the Biblical accounts of Jesus, the church's doctrinal beliefs about Christ, and a person's experiential encounters with Jesus Christ today. It is intended for use with adults who have little or no background in the Christian faith.

Building Healthy Relationships (Short Term) Relationships can be tough.  Often we make them tougher because we struggle with not having some of the skills and techniques that promote health and wholeness.  Building Healthy Relationships is all about discovering the keys to finding happiness and fulfillment in long-term relationships and marraige.

Beth Moore Studies (Short Term) There is usually at least one Beth Moore study going on at Grace.  These video driven series are engaging, relevant and focused on spiritual formation and Biblical literacy.  Check the calendar or call the church office for the specific dates that a Beth Moore study is running.
