With Ash Wednesday on February 22, we begin the season of Lent. For many people who observe Lent, it means giving up something unhealthy or unproductive. I'd like to propose that maybe a better use of this season is to develop new, holy habits. For me, that means developing a deeper devotional and prayer life. It means learning and practicing something new that will help ingrain these new habits during Lent, but hopefully, also will become so much a part of who I am that they will continue for the rest of my earthly life.
So, instead of giving something up for Lent (which is still not a bad thing), can you think of some healthy and holy habit you've been meaning to develop but have never taken the time to do so and let Lent help you make this new habit become a part of your life? I invite you to join me on the journey!

♦ Thursday, February 23, 11:30-1:00 p.m. Lenten Bible Study
Pastor Ivan will be doing the study and will meet each Thursday during Lent in room 214. You are invited to bring a bag lunch.
